Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor she is a popular TV host. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her signature hairstyle and her spiky, blond locks as well as her pumped up personality, reveals the simplest techniques that anyone could master. Chef Burrell has worked in top New York restaurants and studied Italian food traditions and geography. Additionally, she competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for culinary arts and food at an early age. After receiving an English and Communications degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she became interested in the business of restaurant by enroling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. She says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America student. I was awed by every minute." I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't perform enough or work hard enough. Chef Burrell following her graduation from the Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy spent one year working in Umbria in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred establishment. Her time spent in Italy made her more aware and appreciate the Italian way of life and its culture and it has had an impact on her own eating habits. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. Additionally, she has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids with disabilities. As an inspirational speaker, she travels across the nation to talk about her love of cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne stated that she felt privileged that I could share her true passion with others.
