Paula Patton

Paula Patton was the daughter of Joyce (Vanraden) and Charles Patton. Her father is African-American and her mother who is caucasian, has German, English, and Dutch her ancestry. Her family lived just across the street from the 20th Century Fox lot as she grew up and she was a huge film buff since her early days. Her mother, too, who liked good movies, was a schoolteacher, and her father was a lawyer. Paula said that she attempted to get away as an innocent child by "pretending" to pretend to be someone else than. It's no surprise that she was a part of Hamilton Magnet Arts High School productions. Her most loved role was "Abigail" from "The Crucible". However, she went on to pursue a film degree at the University of Southern California in an summer program. She got a 3-month job making documentary films for PBS. As a result, she was able to serve as a production assistant on documentaries on TV and also on Howie Mandel’s talk show. In the following time, she was able to make documentary segments for Medical Diaries 2000 on Discovery Health Channel. Paula states she loves what she is doing but her goals were the same. She studied acting and switched gears to be an actor. She became a huge hit with her roles, including major ones in Hitch (2005), Idlewild (2006) as well as the leading female role in Deja Vu (2006) opposite Denzel.
